<i>K2, also known as Mount Godwin-Austen or Chhogori is the second highest mountain in the world, afterMount Everest, at 8,611 metres (28,251 ft) above sea level. K2 is known as the Savage Mountain due to the extreme difficulty of ascent. It has the second-highest fatality rate among theeight thousanders. With around 300 successful summits and 80 fatalities, about one person dies on the mountain for every four who summit. It is more difficult and hazardous to reach the peak of K2 from the Chinese side; thus, it is usually climbed from the Pakistani side.</i><br />

<i>Dhaulagiri I is the seventh highest mountain in the world at 8,167 metres (26,795 ft) above sea level. It was first climbed on May 13, 1960 by a Swiss/Austrian/Nepali expedition.<br /><br />The mountain's name is धौलागिरी  in Nepali. This comes from Sanskrit where धवल (dhawala) means dazzling, white, beautiful and गिरि (giri) means mountain. Dhaulagiri I is also the highest point of the Gandaki river basin.</i><br />

<i><br />Annapurna is the 10th highest mountain in the world and was the first 8000 m peak to be climbed. It was first summited in 1950 by Maurice Herzog and Louis Lachenal. It was not until 1970 that Annapurna was summited again. In the autumn of 1999 there were 120 expedition to Annapurna. 106 climbers reached the summit. 54 climbers never came back. As of the end of 2009, there had been 157 summit ascents of Annapurna I, and 60 climbing fatalities on the mountain. This fatality-to-summit ratio (38%) is the highest of any of the eight-thousanders. </i><br />

<i>Gasherbrum I, also known as Hidden Peak or K5, is the 11th highest mountain in the world at 8,080 metres above sea level. It is located on the Pakistani–Chinese border in Gilgit–Baltistan region of Pakistan and Xinjiang region of China.Gasherbrum is a remote group of high peaks in the Karakoram, located at the northeast end of the 36-mile Baltoro glacier. The group forms a semi-circle around its own South Gasherbrum Glacier. A French Expedition led by H. De Segogne made first attempt in 1936, but they could not climb beyond Camp V at a height of 6797 meters. However, in 1958 an American Expedition led by Nich Clinch made the first ascent of Gasherbrum I. Pete Schoening and Andy Kaufman were first to reach the summit.</i></div>

Mt Everest on Thursday morning recorded its first summit by the foreign expedition members of the season after the renowned British climber Keton Cool along with a fellow mountaineer Robert Lucas and two Sherpa guides successfully reached to the top of the world’s highest peak.</div>

According to base camp officials, Kenton, 42, and Lucas, 53, stood at the top of the peak at 8:15 am becoming the first expedition members to have climbed the Mt Everest after 2014.</div>

Kenton becomes the first Briton to climb Mt Everest for 12 times. Kenton also holds a record of the first mountaineer who climbed Mt Nuptse, Mt Everest and Mt Lhotse in a season in 2013.<br />

<span style="font-size: x-large;">T</span>he United States has said it has cancelled its <b>“Travel Warning for Nepal”</b>.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The United States on October 8 last year had advised its citizens to reconsider their travel plans to Nepal in the wake of unrest in the Tarai and countrywide fuel shortages. “Because conditions have changed, the travel warning was cancelled effective February 29, 2016,” the US Department of State said in a statement on Tuesday.</div>

After the promulgation of the constitution, protests erupted in the Tarai region and there was a border blockade, which resulted in acute shortages of fuel across the country. Cargo movement through Nepal-India border resumed on February 5 and the Tarai-based political parties officially called off their protests on February 8.</div>

Lord Shiva is one of the most popular and revered deities of the Hindus. Sadhus or ascetics arrive in hordes, some of them weeks before the actual festival and stay at the temple complex for long periods. It is said that Shiva had once taken the form of an ascetic. Shiva temples all over country are thronged by huge crowd of devotees on this day and night. The road to Pashupatinath is closed to traffic from early morning or the day before and people line up to enter.</div>
